When two drumlines like each other, they tend to do things together. At this point, the Iowa State and Jefferson drumlines had a lot of respect for one another, and Iowa State had a lot of Band of Blue alumni percussionists. The drumlines play warm-ups together and parts of their shows for one another. Check out the happy and honored Band of Blue percussionists!

1997-1998 Drumline at the Rose Bowl
Doug says, "This is a documentary I made more for the students in that drumline on that Rose Bowl Trip, than anyone else. I was the drumline instructor on the 1998 Rose Bowl trip and but also wanted to make something that they could have and look at years later and remember. I looked at it recently and now 10 years after that trip, it still holds up as a great documentary and reminder, even if it is more focused on the drumline. From the daily rehearsals, the flights, the activities, the preparations, and the extensive local Eastern Iowa news coverage of the band, I somehow got it all worked in. Very few people have seen this . . . enjoy the Rose Bowl once more!"

1988 Walt Disney Easter Parade (Long) - 20.12MB
The band traveled to Florida in the spring of 1988 on their every-two-years-27-hour-one-way-bus-trip to Florida. When the band finally arrived at the hotel, Mr. D was told he had an important phone call and the band had to wait another hour on the bus. That turned out to be the Disney people asking if the Band of Blue would participate in the videotaping of the Disney Easter Parade the next day at Walt Disney World with some compensation. Of course Mr. D said, "YES!" The band "played" to a pre-recorded track in a video shoot that took 7 takes. There is also another band mixed in (in red) from California. This clip is the entire "I Love A Parade" song, with the Band of Blue being close to end. Also note - Regis looks grumpy!
